Eric is the steady, grounding force behind BelLA’s House of Blues—the calm to Charlene’s fire, and the quiet strength that keeps everything moving forward.

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Eric made his way to La Grande, Oregon in his twenties, where he built his life and raised his children. A devoted father, he has always been surrounded by dogs—often thanks to his kids bringing them home—and over the years, his love for pit bulls became something deeply rooted. His heart dog, a pit bull named Princess, left a lasting imprint that never faded.

In 2019, Eric experienced a life-changing loss with the passing of his oldest son—a loss that mirrors the grief that fuels this rescue today. Through that connection, he and Charlene found each other, bonded not only by loss, but by a shared purpose: to honor their children by saving the lives that others give up on.

Eric is not one for the spotlight. He finds peace in the simple things—quiet nights at home, time with family, and being surrounded by the dogs they fight so hard to save. But behind the scenes, his support is unwavering. Whether it’s showing up, stepping in, or standing strong when things get heavy, Eric is a constant.

Today, he is a proud father, grandfather of two with another on the way, and an essential part of the heart behind this mission.

Because while this rescue may have started as a dream… it continues because of the people who stand beside it.
